Obituary for Richard Vance Williams

Richard Vance Williams, Jr., age 73, of Indian Mound, passed away, Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born September 1, 1942 in Kingston, North Carolina, son of the late Richard Vance Williams, Sr. and Nell McCoy Williams.
Mr. Williams served in the United States Army where he retired after 26 years of service. He served two tours in the Vietnam War, and was a member of the 5th Group Special Forces. Mr. Williams was a member and deacon at the Dover First Baptist Church, and was Chaplin of the Good Samaritans of Dover.
He is survived by his wife, Joann Heflin Williams, Indian Mound, son, Richard Vance Williams, III, Indian Mound, TN, daughter, Kimberly Edmondson (Chris), Clarksville, TN, grandchildren, Walton Edmondson, Jediah Edmondson, and Bingham Edmondson.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Anglin Funeral Home, with Bro. George Miller and Bro. William Gray officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday, September 18, at Anglin Funeral Home and from 10:00 am until the time of service on Saturday. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veteran Cemetery West. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Good Samaritans of Dover, P.O. Box 115 Dover, TN 37058.
