Sweetest flower

Aunt Evon loved African Violets! She and her sister in law, also my husband's Grandmother, Imogene Hinson shared that love. Years before I met my husband Scott, my Mother and I stopped by her little white house to inquire about some of the flowers in her yard. When up popped her head up from her bed of irises she was tending, the most gentle and kind lady sweetly invited us to come and look at all of her flowers, too! I later came to know her better when I would go with my friend and sister in Christ, Ethel Wallace when she would take her and Aunt Stella Taylor on their weekly visit to town to do whatever they needed. She was equally as inviting and kind as the first time I met her. So easy to love. After I married her great nephew Scott, I was blessed to be called her family. She never failed to show compassion and give love. I took my then 2 year old daughter in her fairy costume so Evon could see her before she went out trick or treating and she didn't have any candy on hand so she gave her an African Violet! Every time I was blessed to see her or spend time with her, her beautiful spirit and loving heart shone through no matter how tired or unwell she felt. She never complained or wanted to bother you. A ready hug and kiss were yours for the taking when you saw her. In heaven's courtyard Evon is tending the gardens beside my Mother once again. I love her and thank God she loved me and my family. She truly is one of the sweetest flowers in heaven. Earth's loss is heaven's gain. With all our love, Scott, Rose, Maggie and Noah
