Obituary for Dorothy Lee Mathis (Dowdy)

Dorothy Lee Mathis, 83 of Dover, TN passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Diversicare of Dover. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Anglin Funeral Home with Joe Page officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 10:00 am until the hour of service.
She was born December 20, 1932 in Stewart Co., TN daughter of the late Paul and Lillian Adams Dowdy Rogers. Mrs. Mathis was a factory worker with Busman Fuse Co. and attended the Dover First Church of the Nazarene. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Mathis, brothers, Charles Dowdy, Edward Dowdy, Tom Dowdy and sister, Ruth Creek. Survivors include her son, Paul Mathis (Debra), Indian Mound, TN, daughter, Beverly Dennis (Hugh), Dover, TN, half-brother, Tony Townzen, Edwardsville, IL, 4 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Pallbearers will be Zach Marquess, Tyler Marquess, Rex Marquess, David Dennis, Wayne Dennis and Pat Townzen.
