Life Story for Festus David Blane

Festus David  Blane
Mr. Festus David Blane, age 98, of Dover, formerly of Indian Mound, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014, at his home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Anglin Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Hayes to officiate, burial will follow at the Seay Cemetery, Indian Mound. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service Tuesday.

He was born June 25, 1916 in Indian Mound, son of Charles Wesley and Beatrice Wolfe Blane. Mr. Blane was a WWII US Army Veteran. He was a member of the Indian Mound United Methodist Church and the Indian Mound Masonic Lodge #303. He retired from Fort Campbell Civil Service in 1971 and from R.K. Smith Construction in 1987.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Ilma Imogene Richardson Blane, children, Gwendolyn Blane, Imogene Blane, and Ronnie David Blane, sisters, Gertrude Smith, Elizabeth Grasty, Electa Smith, Beatrice Vaughan, Kathryn Vaughan, brothers Charles Blane, and Curtis Blane.

Survivors include his daughters, Patricia Peacher (William), Cadiz, KY, and Hope Anglin (Wayne), Dover, TN, grandchildren, Lee Peacher (Ann), Troy Peacher (Kim), Jonathan Anglin (Laurisa), Amanda Zellers (Justin), Amy Anglin, great grandchildren, Dustin Peacher, Hunter Peacher, Isabella Peacher, Nicholas Peacher, Ellie Kathryn Zellers, and Luke Hicks.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews, honorary pallbearers will be his caregivers, Terry Kelley, Debra Milliken, Patsy Mullaney, Conya McPhearson, Sondra Cherry, Marty Nichols, Betty Fortune, Sharon Mitchell, Edna Kelley, and Mr. Bernard Edwards, who served with Festus in the 148th Chemical Warfare General Service Company during WWII.
