Betty Jean Lee Nelson, age 82, of Big Rock, TN passed away, November 19, 2018. She was born October 10, 1936, in Pitt County, NC, daughter of the late James and Gurney Lee. Mrs. Nelson was a homemaker and a member of Brandon’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Nelson, second husband, Ronald Thomas, daughter Kim Penrod, one brother, and two grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Wallace (Mikey), Bumpus Mills, TN, Beverly Nash (Larry), Dover, TN, Debra Dewberry, Clarksville, TN, sons, Jimmy Nelson, Dover, TN, Tommy Nelson, Dover, TN, Michael Thomas, Springfield, TN, son-in-law, Jimmy Penrod, Clarksville, TN, as well as one brother, three sisters, 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 24th, at Anglin Funeral Home, with Bro. Joshua Colson and Garrette Milliken officiating. Burial will follow in the Taylor Cemetery in Big Rock, TN. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:30 am until the time of service at Anglin Funeral Home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements are entrusted to Anglin Funeral Home.
