Dorothy Elizabeth Dority, died peacefully at Diversicare of Dover on Friday, July 27, 2018 at the age of 83. Dorothy was born at home in Stewart County, TN, to Hershel Ree Dunaway and Nettie Belle Newberry Dunaway. She was a devoted mother and homemaker. Dorothy enjoyed quilting and being with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Dority, children, Reva Jewell and Robert Ray, sister, Mamie Lorene Anglin, and brother, Thomas Gordon Dunaway.
She is survived by her children, Dottie Sue Maxwell (Derrell), Clayton Dean Barnes (Margie), and Madison O’Neal Barnes (Shelia), five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 30th at Anglin Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Chester officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Dover, TN. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Sunday at Anglin Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Bush, William Hopkins, Clayton Barnes, James Hamrick, Clayton Barnes, II, and Allen Tatom.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Diversicare of Dover and Dr. Robert Hudson and staff for all the care and assistance they have provided over the years. In lieu of memorials, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
