James Milford  Ezell
James ‘Milford’ Ezell, age 85, of Bumpus Mills, TN, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Centennial Medical Center, Nashville, TN. He was born September 21, 1932 in Bumpus Mills, TN, son of the late James Elzie Ezell and Elma Helen Harris Ezell. He was the business owner of Milford’s Bait Shop in Bumpus Mills and a commercial fisherman; upon retirement, he became a farmer.
He served in the US Navy and was a trained carpenter. His most significant duty assignment was in Naha, Okinawa, where he was responsible for the construction and repair of wood, concrete, and masonry structures. He left the Navy in 1955, after receiving the National Defense Service Medal.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Eva Burns. Survivors include his beloved wife, Nancy Mitchell Ezell, daughter, Catherine Elaine Bau (Andrew), grandson, Thomas and granddaughter, Emily, all of Bumpus Mills, TN, son, James Edward Ezell (Christy) and grandson, Ethan Buchanan, of Indian Mound, TN.
A Celebration of life with military honors will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Bumpus Mills United Methodist Church, with Bro. Glenn Byrd officiating. A reception will follow at the church. Memorial visitation will be from 10 am until the time of service Saturday.
Arrangements are entrusted to Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, TN.
