James Hugh Burkhart, 80 of Indian Mound, TN passed away on Wednesday, October 25 2017 at his residence. He was born January 4, 1937 in Indian Mound, TN son of the late Dewey and Naomi Grizzard Burkhart. Mr. Burkhart was retired from Trane Co. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Velma Austin Burkhart, grandson, Michael Melton, and sisters, Janie Travis and Ora Lee McGovern. Survivors include his daughter, Kimberly Melton, Indian Mound, TN, granddaughter, Ashlyn Melton, Indian Mound, TN, brothers, Donnie Burkhart, Dover, TN, Leon Burkhart, Jonesboro, AR, sisters, Betty Turner, Carolyn Threatt, Wanda Coleman and Florence Shepherd, all of Indian Mound, TN.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Anglin Funeral Home with Bro. Garrette Milliken officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Indian Mound, TN. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 11:00 am until the hour of service at Anglin Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Elijah Thomas, Timmy Wallace, Jeff Turner, Keith Travis, Lewis Shepherd, Jr., and Donnie Burkhart, Jr.
