Dean Porter, age 65 of Dover, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at his home. He was born June 17, 1952 in Indian Mound, son of the late Lacy and Beauford Harris Porter. Mr. Porter served as song leader, Sunday school teacher, and Preacher at Chestnut Grove Church of Christ. He worked at Ely Walker, Osh Kosh, Carhart and was a farmer. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Lacy Porter, Jr. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Karen Tipton Porter, sons, Christopher Porter (Samantha), Dover, TN, Cody Porter (Kathi Lee), Dover, TN, daughters, Kimberly Eckard (Daniel), Dover, TN, Kayla Hallock (Joseph), Dover, TN, Samantha West (Josh), Indiana, brother, Ronnie Porter (Martha), Dover, TN, grandchildren, Austin and Gracie Eckard and Cassie and Brianna Porter.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 9-11:00 am with graveside services following at 11:30 am at Chestnut Grove Cemetery with Earl Claud officiating. Pallbearers will be Zack Page, Stacey Page, Ryan Porter, Mark Porter, Jessie Osteen and Roger Gillespie.
