Wilma  Louise   Rushing
Wilma Louise Rushing, 91, of Alhambra and formerly of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 8:28 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016 at Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra. She was born July 24, 1924 in Cumberland City, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Robert and Ollie (Carter) Dortch. She was a loving and dedicated homemaker and enjoyed her days of quilting. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Russ Dees of Marquette, Michigan; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Rhonda Rushing of Granite City; son-in-law, Danny Woods of Staunton; six grandchildren, Tory Dees, Kelly Dees, Elizabeth Lilley, Neal Rushing, Nathan Rushing and Nikki Rushing; five great grandchildren, Cameron Lilley, Blake Rushing, Bryce Rushing, Lincoln Rushing and Reese Rushing; many nieces; nephews; cousins; other extended family and friends. In addition to her beloved parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Rushing whom passed away on December 12, 1975; a daughter, Evonne Woods; six brothers, Earl, Harry, Lonnie, James, Orman and Lurton Dortch and five sisters, May Horn, Pearl Stubbelfield, Lorene Rougemont, Lillian Fowler and Mary Boyd. In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Anglin Funeral Home, 402 Donelson Parkway in Dover, Tennessee on Friday, June 17, 2016 from 12:00 noon until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Jim McGee officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Donelson National Cemetery in Dover, Tennessee. Memorials may be made to VITAS Hospice. Irwin Chapel of Granite City, Illinois in charge of arrangements, local arrangements assisted by Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, Tennessee.
