Jerry Lee Toombs, 68 of Dover, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Diversicare of Dover. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Monday at Anglin Funeral Home with Rev. David Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow in the Stewart Co. Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors. Visitation will be from 5:00 -8:00 pm on Sunday and from 9:00 am until the time of service on Monday at Anglin Funeral Home. Military will serve as pallbearers.
He was born January 26, 1947 in Nashville, TN son of the late William Houston and Edna Toombs and Maybelle Allen. Mr. Toombs was retired from the U.S. Air Force, Vietnam Era. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Toombs and sister, Agnes Smith. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Linda Morrow Toombs, Dover, TN, sons, Billy Toombs, Dover, TN, David Toombs, New York, Michael Toombs, Dover, TN, daughter, Shannon Toombs, Dover, TN, sisters, Joann Hooper, Nashville, TN Pam McClain, South Carolina, Sandra Henry, Nashville, TN, Lisa Swayze, Nashville, TN, grandsons, Zachary Toombs, Christopher Toombs, Nathan Toombs, and Coby Toombs.
