William Richard Howard, 92 of Big Rock, TN passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Tennova Medical Center. He was born June 3, 1924 in Stewart Co., TN son of the late John Bunyon and Josie Ezell Howard. Mr. Howard was a U.S. Army WWII veteran, retired from Ft. Campbell Civil Service, was a farmer, and attended Taylor’s Chapel Church of God. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Madie Harrison Howard, daughter, Dorothy Wallace, brother, Bishop Howard, and sons in law, Donald W. Dawson and Neal Threatt. Survivors include his daughters, Joyce Dawson, Hendersonville, TN, Betsy Kirkland (Charles), Clarksville, TN, Jeanette Bryant (Horace), Clarksville, TN, Shirley Grizzard (Carl, Jr.), Dover, TN, Loretta Threatt, Dover, TN, Wanda Smith (Don), Honey Grove, TX, Lesa Fitzhugh (Mark), Dover, TN, son in law, Larry Wallace, Clarksville, TN, sisters, Lolita Muncy, Big Rock, TN, Nita McCloud, FL, Gracie Haynes, Clarksville, TN, 21 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Anglin Funeral Home with Dr. Don Howard and Bro. Charlie Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in the Taylor Cemetery, Big Rock, TN. Visitation will be on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 11:30 am until the hour of service at Anglin Funeral Home. Grandsons will be pallbearers. Arrangements are entrusted to Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, TN.
