James E.  Ahart
James E. Ahart, 85 of Dover, TN passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. He was born June 1, 1931 in Trigg Co., KY son of the late Prentice and Liva Bland Ahart. Mr. Ahart was retired from Wallace Supply and Fox Bros., was a deacon and trustee at the First Baptist Church of Dover, he helped organize the Stewart Co. Little League Association, he was the former assistant coach of the Stewart Co. High School girls softball team, was a Special Ed school bus monitor, and he was honored with the girls little league softball field named after him. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Esco Forgurson, Eva Hooks and Kathlene Calhoun. Survivors include his wife, Zelma Fox Ahart, Dover, TN, daughters, Lisa McPherson (Rick), Dover, TN, Stacey Crockarell (Greg), Dover, TN and grandchildren, Bo Crockarell, Shayna McPherson and Jayden McPherson.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Stewart Co. Athletic Association Ballpark on the James Ahart Field. Rev. William Gray and Rev. George Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in the Stewart Co. Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on the James Ahart Field on Sunday, March 5, 2017 from 12:30-2:00 pm. Pallbearers will be family and friends. In lieu of all other memorials, donations may be made to a scholarship fund in Mr. Ahart’s name at the F&M Bank, Dover, TN.
