Alrick Stephen ‘Buck’ Fitzhugh, age 82, of Dover, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 at Diversicare of Dover. He was born October 30, 1933, in Stewart County, TN son of the late Bertis and Marie Grizzard Fitzhugh. Mr. Fitzhugh was a dairy farmer and retired from Paris Landing State Park Golf Course.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Bertis Alrick ‘Butch’ Fitzhugh, brothers, Harmon ‘Bear’ Fitzhugh, Carl Fitzhugh, L.H. Fitzhugh, Charlie Fitzhugh, and Sam Fitzhugh, sisters, Dorothy Redmon and Juanita Pulley.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 61 years, Dixie Ann Beaver Fitzhugh, sons, Larry Fitzhugh (Cheryl), Dover, Mark Russell Fitzhugh (Lesa), Dover, daughters, Mary Washam, Dover, Loretta Miller (Danny), Dover, Karen Dennis (Ricky), Dover, Darla Compton (James), Dover, Donna Manners, Dover, brother, Bob Fitzhugh, Granite City, IL, sister, Naomi Gray, Dover, 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Monday at Anglin Funeral Home with Rev. Emmett Sexton officiating. Burial will be in the Fitzhugh Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Sunday at Anglin Funeral Home and from 10:00 am until the time of service on Monday. Pallbearers will be Corey Etherton, Stephen Fitzhugh, Josh Fitzhugh, Ryan Dennis, Travis Compton, Derek Compton, Josh Dennis, and Kyle Compton. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Washam, Tyler Dennis, and Bobby Buie. Arrangements have been entrusted to Anglin Funeral Home.
