Obituary for William Edward Swift

William Edward  Swift
William Edward Swift, age 89, of Dover, TN, passed away, Friday, June 3, 2016 at his residence. He was born, July 16, 1926, son of the late William and Vida Knott Swift. Mr. Swift was retired from the United States Postal Service where he was a rural mail carrier. He was also a lifelong farmer and member of the Bumpus Mills United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Margaret McNichols Swift, siblings, Bruce and Wilson Swift and Frances Swift Gladish.
Survivors include his children, Dale Swift (Rita), Jerry Swift (Terry), Keith Swift (Kim), Lisa Bevier (Dennis), grandchildren, Dana Earhart (Derek), Holli Dill (Donnie), Jeff Swift (Kim), Missy Thomas (Mike), Tracy Swift, David Swift (Chelsea), Jonathan Swift, Nathan Swift, Landon Bevier, Loren Bevier, great grandchildren, Whitni Kriwox (Jesse), Ryan Earhart, Cole Earhart, Carlee Dill, Carissa Dill, Jordon Burkhart (Zach), Emily Swift, Tristan Swift, Haley Kennedy (Matt), Killian Swift, Shiloh Swift, and great-great grandchildren, Dawson Earhart and Ansley Kennedy.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 5, at Anglin Funeral Home with Rev. Jaqueline Martin and Rev. Thomas Wise officiating. Burial will be in the Morgan Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 pm on Saturday at Anglin Funeral Home and from 12:00 until the time of service on Sunday. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and granddaughters will be honorary pallbearers.
A special thanks to his caretakers, Sondra Cherry, Betty Fortune and Heather Meeks, Tennessee Quality Home Health and Hospice, Chrystal Shaw and Bro. Garret Milliken.
In lieu of other memorials donations may be made to the Bumpus Mills United Methodist Church, 120 Antioch Rd. Bumpus Mills, TN 37028.
