Eugene  "Hot Nose"  McGregor
Eugene Alden “Hot Nose” McGregor, 87 of Dover, TN passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Diversicare of Dover. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 11:00 am at Anglin Funeral Home with Robert Webster, Denise Settle and Carl Newberry officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Dover, TN. Visitation will be on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 5-7:00 pm and on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 10-11:00 am at Anglin Funeral Home. Arrangements are entrusted to Anglin Funeral Home, Inc., Dover, TN.
He was born May 27, 1928 in Dover, TN son of the late Clayton Haliday and Ida Eldridge Smith McGregor. While in high school, he worked part time at Woodrow Dill’s store in Dover and continued working there after graduating in 1946. In 1962 he was elected Stewart County Trustee and held that position until he retired in 1986. He was a volunteer firefighter for 30 years. He also spent many hours working with the American Red Cross and was Sunday school teacher at the Fort Donelson United Memorial Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Elwin, Clayton, LeRoy, William and Wilton McGregor and sisters, Aileen Hilmus and Louise Hogan. Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Effie Trinkle McGregor, Dover, TN, daughter, Betsy Ignacio, Clarksville, TN, sister, Virginia Riggins, Dover, TN, grandchildren, David Littleton, Jenny Albin, John-Charles Ignacio and great grandchildren, Lauren Littleton, Logan Littleton and Lennon Ignacio. Pallbearers will be George Sexton, John-Charles Ignacio, David Littleton, Brad Albin, Charles Crockarell, Art Durfee and Elwin McGregor.
In lieu of other memorials, donations may be made to the St. Jude Hospital.
