Obituary for Gladys Logan (Cottrell)

Gladys Logan, age 73, of Dover, passed away, Friday, October 30, 2015 at Henry County Medical Center.
Gladys was born December 5, 1941 in Stewart County, daughter of the late Wesley and Pearl Sizemore Cottrell. She was a member of the Taylors Chapel United Methodist Church, where she kept the children’s nursery. Gladys graciously volunteered with the Completely One Ministry as well as many other community programs. She was always willing to donate her time for a worthy cause.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Logan, and an infant brother, Charles Cottrell.
Survivors include her daughter, Crystal Logan, Dover, brothers, Carl Cottrell, Dover, Carter Cottrell, Dover, and Eddie Cottrell, Dover, sisters, Carolyn Downs, Dover, Louise Spurgeon, Stewart, TN, Anne Elliott, Dover, Margie Smith, Dover and Wanda Taylor, Dover, and honorary grandchildren, Jathan and Chloe Armstrong, Dover.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Tuesday at Anglin Funeral Home with Pastor Phoebe Jowers officiating. Burial will be in the Taylors Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 pm Monday and 9:00 am until the time of service Tuesday at Anglin Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Steve Powers, David Sykes, Phillip Sykes, Brian Spurgeon, Bradley Spurgeon, Tommy Elliott, Wesley Smith, Jason Taylor, and Corey Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers will be the children of the Taylors Chapel United Methodist Church nursery, Savannah Lee, Asher Rhodes, Elizabeth Bagwell, Emily Haddox, Jathan and Chloe Armstrong, and Blakeley Young.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Taylors Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
