Samuel Eugene Turner, age 80 of Indian Mound, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born April 28, 1935 in Stewart County, Tennessee, son of the late Samuel Dewey and Ruby Holiday Turner. Mr. Turner was owner of Turner’s Logging and was a Tennessee Master Logger. He attended Hopewell United Methodist Church.
Mr. Turner is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Betty Burkhart Turner, sons, Larry Turner, Dover, Mickey Turner, Dover, Marty Turner, Indian Mound, Jeff Turner, Indian Mound, daughters, Brenda Smith, Indian Mound, Rita Hammonds, Springfield, TN, brother, Delmer Turner, Clarksville, sisters, Ruth Durham, Indian Mound, Frances Webb, Indian Mound, 10 grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he is preceded by his brothers, Mac Turner, Harold Dean Turner and sister, Earlene Durham.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, June 19, at Anglin Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Littleton to officiate, burial will be in the Dunbar Cemetery, Indian Mound. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday at Anglin Funeral Home and from 11:00 am until the time of service Friday.
His grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers, Scott Smith, Wesley Turner, Josh Turner Nick Smith, Adam Smith, and Chris Summers.
