Mattie Ruth Vaughn, 79 of Dover, TN passed away peacefully on February 10, 2015 at home surrounded by loved ones. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Anglin Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Wyatt’s Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 3-8:00 pm and on Saturday, February 14, 2015 from 1-2:00 pm at Anglin Funeral Home.
She was born February 17, 1935 in Smithville, TN the daughter of the late Everett Lee and Mattie Horton Vanderpool. As a young adult she loved to play softball and basketball. She was a military wife of 20 years and a member of the Wyatt’s Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Darlene Vaughn Smith, brothers, Edward Lee and William J, and sister, Margaret Jean Armes. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Jesse Dalton, sons, Kenneth (Debbie), Michael (Rejane), daughter, Debra Vaughn Garner (John), sister, Robbie Rue, eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be family.
