Obituary for Paul Edward Evans

The funeral service with military honors for Paul Edward Evans, age 97, of Springville will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 15 at Springville Church of Christ.
Charles Cate and Willard Alls will officiate. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church building Saturday from noon until time of the service. Anglin Funeral Home in Dover is in charge of arrangements.
Paul Evans passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 4, 1917 to the late William and Manie Evans. He was married September 2, 1950 to Billie Jean Killebrew Evans who survives.
Paul Evans was a member of Springville Church of Christ. He was a decorated World War II Army veteran who earned 2 Bronze stars and 7 Honor medals. He was a farmer and retired from Holley Carburetor in 1979 with more than 22 years service. He loved working in his yard and garden. He was a passionate St. Louis Cardinals fan who kept up with all the stats and trades for more than 70 years.
He leaves four children: Mitchell (Linda) Evans of Cottage Grove, Peggy (Tony) Nance of Puryear, Doug (Cathy) Evans of Springville, and Ricky Evans of Paris; his grandchildren: Amanda (Jody) Browning, Brandon Evans, Chris (Gail) Evans, Ashley Evans, Ethan Evans, Johnny (Misty) Henderson, David (Elyse) Henderson and 10 great-grandchildren; one brother: Henry Evans of Springville and one sister: Lottie Wilson of Lebanon.
He was preceded in death by 2 grandsons: Greg Evans and Jason Evans; a daughter-in-law: Sherry Smith Evans; and a sister: Theresa Gilbreth.
